From this guide you can also gather something about relative scarcity or availability of an item by
how many times it is listed (including in WTB or wanted to buy ads below!). So for
example, if there is only one 40mm nikkor lens listed, but three 45mm super komura lenses,
you might conclude that the 40mm is harder to find. Conversely, you will notice that one
of those 45mm lenses is offered at $625 (B&H) while the other two dealers are only
asking $395 (GW) and $250 (KC). From this observation you might conclude that you could
keep looking until you found one offered for $250 or less from an individual seller.

Hello everybody,
I have a set of Komura lenses (300, 400 and 500 mm) and an universal Komura
focussing mount for sale. They fit the mechanical Bronica 6x6 camera's (like
the S, S2 and the EC).
The Komura lenses offer a very good quality, both optically as well as
mechanically. The system consists of seperate lens heads and an universal
focussing mount. The focussing mount was originally made for Bronica 6x6 but
is easily adapted since it is a preset aperture system and the focal flange
distance of Bronica is more than 102mm (much more than other MF camera's
like the Kiev 60 and 88 and the Norita 66).
The lenses are in excellent condition. The glass has no fungus or scratches
(except for a small scratch on the 300mm that does not show up on any
pictures). It is a great system. It is super flexible, lightweight and
cheap. Price is $475 for all three lenses in one batch!!!

Recent replacement of all rubbers and foam. A few cosmetic scuffs on the finder cover, some brassing on the bottom plate and the leatherette is lifting slightly in some corners, (which is usual for this model), but apart from that it looks and works perfectly. Meter and shutters speeds are spot on. A few minor points - The frensel screen is from a prism finder and shows the highlighted shutter speed with numerals reversed. Replacement screens are easy enough to find but it's really not a problem at all. Also the lower mirror section has a few minor scratches due to someone trying to fit an incompatible lens, but this has no effect whatsoever on the image seen in the finder. New battery included. Film Back 120/220 with Insert and Darkslide - Looks exc+, minor marks, perfect working order. Nikkor 75mm Lens exc+, mint glass, snappy blades, very minor marks, comes with Bronica UV filter and Bronica metal hood. 40mm/f4 Nikkor-D lens for EC-TL/EC/S2/S2A Mint glass, no fogging or fungus, snappy blades, very sharp lens. A few very minor marks on barrel, Comes with Bronica front cap. Film Back 120/220 with Insert and Darkslide Looks exc+, minor marks, perfect working order. Bronica EC-TL Body + WLF + focusing ring only - Needs repair Camera is locked. I'm sure it's a simple fix for someone like Frank at Camera Wizz, but from here in Ireland its too much trouble for me to sort out. The body is in good cosmetic condition, of course you can see it has been used but definitely not abused. The leather has minor shrinkage. EC Meter - Needs repair I bought this as a non working cheap chimney finder but never got round to getting it fixed. The meter looks new and comes in a red lined leatherette box and outer blue cardboard box. I'd say its a simple electrical problem that someone with more knowledge than myself would easily resolve. EC-TL/EC Delux Grip with trigger release and cable. Looks excellent and works perfectly. Set of 4 extension tubes - 30mm C-C, 15mm C-D plain tubes, C-A, C-B are bayonette fit chrome and black. I have a Black S2A I got from Kohs, it was in excellent condition and has
little use. It had a CLA by Koh's shortly after I got it. It has a
75/2.8 Nikkor, a 200/F4 Nikkor a Kenko 2X TC, a set of extension tubes
(this are useable but not as nice as rest of the items), a 5X maginfier
hood, a Spiratone 400mm I converted (needs to be used with the 2X TC to
avoid viginetting), total of 3 backs (one on each camera and a spare), a
bunch of 120 & 220 film (much outdated but frozen and works fine including
print, slide and a couple of rolls of B&W), a large number of SuperSlide
mounts along with a second S2 body I haven't used much and bought as a
backup. Also a Doksil padded case like the pelican except it is ugly
orange and was originally made as a pistol case.
The only item I have not used much is the S2 body although just ran a 220
roll thru it and functioned fine. I have the box and manual for the S2A
and a box for one of the backs (I think). Both bodies have SQ Grid
Screens that are 1 to 2 times brighter than the orginal Bronica screens.
I also have a 320mm APO lens, a 209mm and 127mm (with Leaf Shutter)
mounted in the lens adapters I make that will work on this camera (they
screw into the 57X1 helicoil mount. The 320 & 209 have alot of cleaning
marks but provide sharp images (the TC is required with the 320 if stopped
down smaller than f11). The shuttered 127mm works fine and has a cable
release connection. Also have a lens reversing ring that I made and an
acheiver flash.
I need $1,800 plus S&H and insurance. If you interested let me know.
Might consider upper end Nikon or Cannon & lens on trade or partial trade,
depends on what it is. I am finding that the 35mm fits my style of
shooting better so I am looking at getting out of MF.

Selling as a complete package only, not interested in piecing out:
Bronica S2A Black body w/Black 12/24 Back, WLF & includes manual and box.
Bought from Kohs Camera a little over a year ago, they rated it as mint. It
has had very little use (couple of dozen rolls since I got it). I had
them put
an SQ Grid screen in it which is 1-2 stops brighter than stock one.
Broncia S2 body (Chr) with SQ Grid Screen and a Chrome back 12/24,
helicoil focus and WLF. I bought this one about 8 months ago from a local
shop that had it on their shelf, it had been orphaned. They told me it
had gone back to Bronica for a Shutter replacement and CLA, it was never
picked up. I have shot a test roll thru it and thats about it so far as I
bought it as a backup and the S2A has worked just fine. Its a user, used
but appears in good working order. Only item of note is the back with
this camera has a tendency of thinking it always has a roll of 220 in it
and doesn't always release after a roll of 120 is finished. If you turn
the selector to 220 then back or jiggle it a little it usually releases.
Not a major problem.
Extra Chrome back 12/24. Has the same symptons as the one above. Must
be a
chrome back issue ;-).
Kenko 2X TC with hard case in very good condition.
Nikkor 200/F4 with built in hood and caps. Nice lens, some dust in it
but not
excessive and takes great pictures.
Set of Extension tubes. These are in good condition and very usable.
Spriatone 400mm Telephoto. If you have watched the board, I am the fellow
making lens hacking adapters. I adapted this one, it works great with no
viginetting if it is used with the 2X Kenko TC. If not viginetting is quite
heavy smaller than say F11 although I have gone to the smallest setting and
used Super Slide mounts (see below) and just cropped this out of the slide
completely.
I have adapted a Wollensak Projection lens (210mm I think) but the images
taken with it are very light in the middle but very sharp. I only took a
few images with it and have since turned it around and added some black
construction paper to the inside of the mount to cut down light scattering
but have not retested again. There are some cleaning swirls on it and a
couple of scratches but not enough to cause this light pattern. It comes
with the 57X1mm adapter so you could easily adapt anthother lense with it.
Cable Release, nothing fancy, but it works.
5X Grey Magnifier Hood in good condition.
about 40+ rolls of 120 (about 6 of these are 220) film, a mix of print and
transparency with about 2/3 of it outdated. I have kept it frozen and
been shooting it right along and it works just fine... There is some
Reala, Velvia, I think some Astia and NPS and some kodak with no date.
Also included is a Pentax Spot V meter w/case and instructions. It is at
Pentax right now getting a new circuit board and recalibrated as it quit
on me a few weeks back. There is also a hardcase by Doksil, this is not
the official black camera case but an ugly orange one. It holds almost
everything, has foam on bottom, top and around the outside (middle open),
it has a rubber o-ring to seal the top and bottom and has a vent screw for
"burping" it I guess? I also have a generic, nothing special flash mount
with, I beleive, an acheiver flash (its nothing fancy and good for short
distances, I am not a flash person and prefer natural lighting).
I am not a professional and photography has been a hobby for the last 6
years or so but like everything else things change, kids go to college and
interests wander so its time to move on. I still dabble in nature related
stock and find that for my style of shooting the 35mm seems a little bit
better suited for my needs and no need to have an extra setup around
gathering dust....

local Mailbox Etc. to make sure it was done correctly.

the camera), a 90 degree prism finder for the early series with case, one
each original Bronica neck straps for an EC and the early series, and a
soft case to the early series. And a rare 200mm f3.5 PS Komura - very
compact - it is unique in that it was the only lens to take advantage of
the 57mm thread mount on the inside of the focusing tube.

The S2 body cosmetics are very nice, no ding or dent, some minor scratches
here and there, leather is intact. Cosmetics for the film backs are
similar. The chimney finder is even better. The hood for the 50mm looks
brand new.
Cosmetics of all three lenses are good, and the glasses look clear and
flawless except a few cleaning marks on the front of the 50mm.
The 12 film back works fine. The 12-24 switch on the 12-24 back seems
broken, and the back is set and locked for 24 exposures. But the 12-24 is
still fully operational on both 120 and 220 films. (There is no "pressure
plate" adjustment on the back.) One just has to fire the shutter a few
times to wind the film completely when a 120 film is used on the 12-24
back. (In fact, I managed 13 shots on a roll of 120 this way.)

Hi Bob, if you would be so kind as to add this to your list of for sale

If anyone is interested in adapting other lens to the Bronica S2 or S2A, I
have made up some extra 57X1 adapters. These may work on other versions
also.
They have a knurled edge, small hole in the middle that can be enlarged to
the size you need. They are threaded to fit the focusing mount. I have
tested them on both an S2 and S2A I own and on my extention tubes so I know
they fit.
I am toying with some other variations (such as adapting a spiratone
500mm F8
to the Bronica S2 or S2A) and will let folks know as they become available.
If you have an idea of something you need and it is fairly simple (machining
is a hobby, not an occupation), drop me a note and we can discuss it and
pricing..
If folks are interested these are in the white (not painted) made from
aluminum (I beleive 6061). If you have any questions let me know. I need
$35 each plus $5.00 shipping & handling (payment via Postal Money Order),
prefer not to ship internationally. I currently have only 2 left and they

Hi,
I had been sold out on these but several people didn't
follow up on their original contact with me. So, I have
the following available for sale:
Qnty 1: Bronica threaded cap. A flat threaded disk that
you can make a hole in and mount a leafshutter lens, pinhole,
fisheye door peephole thingy, etc.
Qnty 4: Bronica threaded reversing ring (male to male). One
end has the 57x1mm thread that fits classic Bronica cameras
(S/S2/S2A/EC/EC-TL). The other end has a 58mm male filter thread.
You use this to reverse mount a 35mm camera lens for greater than
lifesize macro. If your camera lens isn't 58mm then just use
a step up or step down ring to adapt to it.
Both of the above are designed to fit the 57x1mm threaded lens
mount on the classic Bronica cameras (S/S2/S2A/EC/EC-TL). They
are made from aluminum and flat black anodized. The people who
have bought the previous 50 or so have been pleased with them.
Price is $15.00 US each plus $2.50 for postage and bubble envelope
for one or two units. Postage outside US/Canada will be higher.
Prepay with US$ money order (US postal MOs need to be the international
type).

I have for sale an EC-TL with 50/3.5, 75/2.8, 150/3.5, 200/4 (all
Nikkor except the 150), instruction booklet, and a hand grip, in all
in excellent condition, everything working (except the leather
covering on the top is showing its age), glass perfect. All for
$1250.
The EC-TL is a good starter's medium format 6x6 camera. Its features
are impresive even by today's standard. It has a selctive TTL meter
(center 10%), focal plane shutter with speed range from 1/1000 to 4s,
and mechinal shutter at B and 1/40. X-sych at 1/60. Has Aperture
priority AE and Metered manual. Has Mirror lock-up. The back takes
both 120 and 220 film. It was a close copy of Rollei SL66.
The Nikkor lenses for the EC series have outstanding optics. The 50mm
f3.5 has a huge front element (takes 82mm filter). The 75/2.8 and
200/4 are optically comparable to Zeiss countrparts. The 150/3.5
Zenzanon are ideal for portraits.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into medium format. I'm
selling this set because it does not have a winder option. I want to
move to a system with an autowinder.

Comments: First,the designation "S2A" MUST follow the serial number
of both the camera body and the film magazine. Second,The Black finish
must not be full of scrapes and scratches. It must attain a cosmetic
rating of between EX ++ & MINT-,for both the camera body and the film
magazine. Third,it must have its proper Black Waist Level Finder. Fourth,
it must have its Helicoid Focusing Mount. And lastly,I would prefer that
it came supplied with its original Film Insert. The one with the letter
"A" stamped on the side above "Zenza Bronica" where the big gear is
located.
Price will depend on condition,of course.

[ED. note: in a response to a comment on camera pricing, in which Tom
Clark noted he was offered only $35 for a lens that was then priced
at $200 by the same dealer, and related price concerns, I said:

I started tracking how many of the identical cameras were offered for sale
month after month, and it is simply amazing to me too;
evidently camera stores must have very low stock turnover, aiming at
price and markup rather than volume. My guess is we may see a few stores
such as midwest and Wall St. and PacRim dealers break out of this mold by
going for turnover rather than markup.
But in fairness to the dealers,
the costs of repairs and returns are such that even one return in ten
would probably erode their profits away. Most retail stores have to
double the wholesale cost of items if they have moderate turnover in
order to cover store overhead and salaries.
But with used equipment
running 300% and 400% markups by many dealers, we will see increasing
price resistance. I also think many cameras are not getting to dealers as
so many cities don't have old-style camera stores any more, hard to find
somebody to sell too, and if they don't have repair depts., hard to fix
up or warranty a camera given escalating costs of repairs etc.

Stray thoughts from talking to various dealers; some equipment might be
on consignment - I discovered this when I called a Shutterbug advertiser
(a dealer) and commented on a Leica item he had in his ad for months.
This means the dealer did not set the price, his customer did.
If you want to sell older electronic cameras - say a Minolta XK - a
dealer will offer less than he might for a mechanical camera. Rightly or
wrongly (and no comment intended on Minolta) some dealers are leary
about these (electronic) cameras.
If you bring in a camera the dealer already has six of (Canon AE-1?) you
might not get much of a offer from the dealer - bring him something he
needs, and can sell fast (Pentax K-1000 - just before start of school
session), you may well do better.

The real wholesale in camera sales is the trade fairs. The
newsgroups like rec.photo.marketplace usually have higher prices.
Ebay is really expensive and all rigged with shills. Shutterbug
prices are high except for a few bargains which are snapped up
quickly by their elite first class and air mail subscibers who
get the magazine about a week before you do.
Camera Shopper, http://www.camera-shopper.com
is a good used camera publication.
All copies are sent First Class. It does not discriminate against
the consumer as Shutterbug does.
Midwest Photo Shopper http://www.midwestphotoshopper.com
also lists the trade fairs.
The
real bargains are at these trade fairs. Many people don't know
where they are are because they prefer not to read Shutterbug.
Wouldn't it be nice if Pop Photo, the largest photo magazine,
carried a page of listings of all these trade fairs? Why not write
them and suggest it?
You can get regular lists of some of these
trade fairs by mail from their promoters including Photorama ,
313-884-1955, Nancy Green at 954-564-1022, and Bill Bagnell
714-786-8183. This will save you having to buy a copy of
Shutterbug.
A fair amount of money can be made buying cameras at
trade fairs and selling on the net or through Camera Shopper as I
have done until recently. It would also be nice if someone posted a
web page calendar of local camera trade fairs.

The way people rig Ebay is to post an item with a very high reserve,
hype it in the description, get shills to bid it way up but not to the
reserve, then offer it privately to one of the real bidders. Ebay gets
stiffed too, of course, and this is not my style. I'd much prefer to
sell overseas thru rec.photo. marketplace or Camera Shopper
http://www.camera-shopper.com. It has a fine upscale international
readership. I'd never buy on Ebay, prices far too expensive. The way
to buy cameras cheap is to pay $60 or so for a dealer table at a trade
fair. Trade Fairs are listed in Camera Shopper and will be soon on the
web. (You don't have to own a store or anything) Set up your table with
a sign saying, "We buy cameras" The public will bring in bags full of
them. They all want new Advantix's or Canon Rebels with Quantaray zoom
lenses! I pay $100 to $200 for fine Leicas and Nikons with lenses.
Under $100 for Nikon and Leica lenses. I once paid $250 for a Leica IIIG
w/Summicron, my tops, but it went to Hong Kong for $1400! I pay much
less for other stuff such as squeaky Canon AE-1's for friends to fix.
With a table you get in early and get to pick bargains from the dealers
tables . Dealers are far from infallible, often sell too low also. I
bought a fine Goerz Dagor 4 x 5 lens for $5 from a man who sold images.
Another dealer last year sold me three Rollei TLR's (one with Planar)
and a Yashicamat 124 for a hundred dollar bill. All needed cleaning,
which I did easily in about two hours -- using the method described on
my web page. The TLR's all sold fast on rec. photo marketplace for a
good sum. I've sold a slow but pretty Leica IIIf` on there for $150 and
a Speed Graphic for $30 that needed a little work--- to encourage my
repair customers. These are real trade secrets I am revealing here, not
lies, and that is what gets the New York Camera Store Establishment and
the Shutterbug spastic with rage. And that is why I get wild letters
like the one below.
