Twin Lens Reflex Camera FAQ

This camera is a nice example of a Japanese Twin Lens Reflex camera by Kanto Optical Corp. that is available at a modest price for users or collectors (e.g., $50-100+US). Uses 120 rollfilm, and various shutters (NKS, NKS-TB, and RKS listed by McKeown). Some pop-up reflex hoods may feature a sports finder for action framing and fast shooting.

The Amiflex taking and viewing lenses are externally geared together, as you can readily see in the closeup above. The Ami Anastigmat lens is a relatively decent optic and camera, but at the upper price end ($100 US and up) it might be better to look into a Rolleicord TLR.

There was also an Amiflex II twin lens reflex also from the early mid-1950s.
