Lots more information about these cameras can be found at the Graflex Organization Site. These
cameras were produced from circa 1907 through 1923. The lens could be
focused using a bellows style front, with a pop-up flap over the lens (see
photo). The photo shows one of the later model variants, others had pleated
hoods instead of a folding hood. Lots of different lenses were used or could
have been fitted to these cameras (part of their utility and charm?).
The
back was stationary (non-rotating) of the Graflex type. Film sizes varied from
3 1/4" x 4 1/4" to 4x5" to 5x7". Prices on the used market go up for the
larger sizes, from circa $100 up to $150 or so (for 4x5") to $200 range for 5x7",
but the earlier pleated hood may add $50-100.
