Versions of the Gelto D III were made before WWII (~ 1938) and after (~ thru 1950).
The pre-war version has a black body and 50mm f/4.5 Grimmel lens. The post-war
variants have chrome or gold body color, and an f/3.5 lens. The shutter offers a
limited range of speeds from 1/5th to 1/250th and Time plus Bulb. The eye level
finder is simply an optical viewfinder, clearly visible on top in the photo above.
Be aware that this camera produces half-frame images on 127 film. Unfortunately,
127 rollfilm is rather hard to find, which may
be important to many users. These unusual and nicely finished prewar cameras often
fetch considerable prices (up to $200 and more), while the post-war versions are
rather less (often $125 or so and up).
