Pre-WWII Exakta Triangular SLR Camera
This Exakta VX IIa is one of the classic predecessor cameras to today's
medium format cameras. Some owners might trace a direct lineage from these
Exakta VX and the rollfilm VP models to the Exakta 66 to Pentacon 6 to Kiev
60/88 camera series. Compare this later post-WWII model with the
pre-war triangular rollfilm Exakta with 80mm lens
to see how these influences continued in the new 35mm line.

Date: Tue Mar 17 1998 Hi, Danny is right in that I love the Exakta 66 system but it is also true that some Exakta 66's out there are unreliable because of the tendency for the film advance spring to weaken and then cause the film to overlap. I had the advance spring replaced on all my Pentacon Six's, and Exakta 66's. Now I can just love all those Zeiss Jena, Schneider, and Kiev lenses that people don't know what to do with when they change systems. Remember that the camera is the box -concentrate on the lenses! I will repeat: where can you find a beautiful Zeiss 300mm f/4.0 multicoated lense for under $400? - only in an Exakta system! RichardEnd of Page
