The Bentzin Plan Primar plate camera of 1938-40 used a double extension folding plate. It used sheetfilm of 6.5cm x 9 cm, but could be adapted to use a rollfilm back (see photo notes below). A Meyer Trioplan f/3.8 or Zeiss Tessar f/4.5 lens in a Rimset compur shutter was typical. Thanks to the quality of optics, the standard cameras (without rollfilm adapter) can easily fetch $100 US in good condition.

The Curt Bentzin company of Gorlitz, Germany became VEB Primar of Gorlitz, but should not be confused with the earlier Richard Bentzin Landschafatskamera of the 1890s.
